Margaret's German Restaurant: Authentic and Devine...Prost!

Margaret's German Restaurant is so good.  The spaetzle was my favorite...okay, so was the Wiener schnitzel with sauerkraut and housemade warm potato salad.

So my daughter has been telling me I need to check this place out.  She's been to another German restaurant located further south, but she insisted this place was the real deal.  So I decided to visit for lunch.  The service was fast and extremely friendly.  The food, was rich and delicious.  I had the spaetzle and the wiener schnitzel with sauerkraut and housemade warm potato salad...well, it's all housemade.  My guest had the goulash.

 Spaetzle

 Goulash

Wiener schnitzel with sauerkraut and warm potato salad

 Happy lunch companion :-)

The place was pretty crowded but they have two dining areas that accommodated nicely.   The service was outstanding...friendly people who know good food.

I want to go back and try their homemade potato pancakes & applesauce, the jager schnitzel, the kloster schnitzel, the homemade apple strudel and bavarian apple cheese cake...in time my friends, in time :-)  Prost!!!

Leena's Mediterranean Grill, Fast Mediterranean Goodness That Doesn't Taste Fast!!

Leena's Mediterranean Grill...super fast, super friendly, super good. No, super good doesn't begin to do this little clean, fast eatery justice.

Tulsa is seriously getting some of the best little eateries from here to the coastal areas. What I liked about Leena's...it's large, it's like a fast food place but it's super clean and the food is fresh. Yes, fresh. Can ya dig it? I know I can, and bury it into my mouth.

From the hummus and deep fried cauliflower (yeah I said deep fried, what of it?!), to the fresh cucumber salad and UH-MAY-zing falafel wraps. It's delish.  No really, it's like upscale fresh Mediterranean but you order it like fast food, you get it like fast food and you eat it like, well, you get the point. Actually, I didn't eat it like fast food. I did take away, but I ate it at my desk like I would an upscale meal in a snooty restaurant...savoring each morsel and bite.

If you're a Mediterranean food feind like me, this place is a MUST try, especially if you're looking for something good, fresh and fast (awkward, I just described my last date). Bon appetit!

This was a simple yet delicious and perfect place for a birthday lunch...thanks sis! I enjoyed the food ALMOST as much as I enjoyed the company (love my sister time more than anything).  We started with the delicious hummus and veggies...everything was so fresh and tasty. Above average!!

Next, I had the traditional Cuban Sandwich/panini...well, it's a traditional Cuban Sandwich with the Sonoma twist. It was flavorful healthy comfort food at it's finest!!

We ended the perfect birthday lunch with a perfect desert...

Yes, that's Heath bar crushed over the creamy vanilla ice cream...it was a bread pudding,  so  freaking good.  I want one right NOW!!

The service was outstanding and I can't wait to go back for dinner when I can enjoy a nice glass of wine. This place was wicked yummy!! Bon appetit!

Hammett House Claremore: Mighty tradition in a mighty little town :-)

I used to love this place when I lived in this crazy but awesome little town.  Their signature dish was this brown rice with onion and lots of butter. Good Lord was it good!! Today I met a dear friend for lunch and I opted for the Salmon Salad...a healthy signature dish.

I wasn't sure how this would taste, as I've had salmon salads with an Asian influence at  other places and often they disappoint with a dry salmon.  Not this place...that beautiful glistening you see from the salmon glaze was found inside only it wasn't the glaze but the juices of the salmon.  So good. The bow tie pasta, strawberries and spinach just tied in all together beautifully.

Of course, I couldn't stop there. Nope. I had to have the lemon cream pie. OMG, homemade and delish. Creamy and tart at the same time. Don't you just love it?  The pie crust needed some salt to help balance the sweetness of the pie, but other than that, it was scrumptious.  I can't wait to go back for dinner soon!!

You know what I love about this town? Is the friendliness you won't get anywhere else. Service was outstanding, friendly and pleasing.  Love this place and I can't wait to go back for dinner.  I realize I said that already, but I super mean it :-) Bon appetit!

Cumin Flavors of India: Best Indian Food Buffet in Town!!

Cumin Flavors of India restaurant located off 71st and Memorial is just that. True, deep flavors of India.  They say you eat with your eyes first and it has never been more true than at this place...you can see the depth of flavor in all the food being served.

I've been to several Indian Food restaurants in Tulsa and I have to say, they're all pretty good.  What made this place unique is the buffet carried the typical favorites of Indian cuisine, but also offered some healthier options not often seen on an Indian food buffet.  While the food was both comfort and healthy, it was all LOADED with deep flavors.  The kind of flavors you only get from cooking food for long periods of time. You know, the kind of food that takes hours to cook? Yeah, mmm, that kind. So good and full of deep, exquisite flavors. Bon appetit!!

Pho Nhi Vietnamese Noodle House: East Tulsa's Hidden Pho Delight!

Just when I thought I'd tasted the best Pho in town, I stumble across this little hidden gem of a pho delight.  It's located in the same building as Nam Hai Vietnamese Asian Market east of 21st and Garnett.

Seriously good eats. My favorite dishes to eat at Vietnamese restaurants are traditional Pho with all the meat and fixin's you can get or the Bun Cha Gio. It has the fresh and light noodles, with a sliced up crispy spring roll, carrots, cucumber, scallions and the meats of your choices. Oh, and the citric sweet sauce. You just drizzle that sauce all over and mix the dish all up.  It has the perfect balance of crispy comfort food, with fresh crisp veggies and sweet noodles. This is such a must try dish. As you can see from the photos, they don't mess around. The dish is prepared to perfection from the noodles, to the proteins and the beautiful crisp, clean sauce.  Such a party-in-my-mouth foodporn kind of yum.

Please, if you've never had traditional  Vietnamese food, try this place first. It may ruin your taste for other places but it's worth it :-)  chúc mừng! (cheers!)

Ike's Downtown Pub and Eatery: Hit Me Again Ike, and Put Some Steak on It!!

Wow, this place was worth the drive.  It's unique in the combination of food items on the menu. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but settled for three items. My favorite item can't be found on the menu but it was beyond foodgasmic.

I started with a Chicken curry soup...it had the flavors of a Thai restaurant. It was rich and flavorful, but each ingredient stood on it's own.  I was seriously impressed from the start. Delicately prepared with potatoes, chicken, green leeks, a few other healthy ingredients. It was creamy curry delicate yet hearty goodness.

I also tried the Fried Pepper Jack Cheeseballs...they weren't like what you get in other places. Not overly greasy with a great crunch!!

I ended my meal with the Shrimp and Fries basket.  Shrimp AND fries were dipped  in a very light batter. The quality of the shrimp was outstanding.  I loved this place.

The service was excellent, people were friendly and the atmosphere was awesome.  You can tell people working there enjoyed what they do...which is making great food and providing awesome service.  This place made me want to get a hotel room and hang out at the bar until dinner time, it was that sweet!  Keep it real Ike, keep it real :-)

The Vault: Retro Swank... You Can Bank On It ;-)

The Vault is pure retro swank. Located in what was formerly a bank and appropriately named.  The food, phenomenal.

I went for the first time during a company function. We rented the Tom Tom Room. It was a bit warm, but the food, good Lawdy the food, was soooo good.  They had the most amazing Mixologists mixing up creative and tasty cocktails, which were as beautiful and delicious as the food.  A must try for everyone!!
